CELEBRATING THE 47th YEAR OF ARTS UNLIMITED
Richard Calisch started Arts Unlimited in 1976 at Elk Grove High School. Calisch's vision for Arts Unlimited was to inspire the imagination and creativity of students by bringing visiting artists, authors, musicians, dancers, and performers into each school in District 214. We ask you to help us celebrate this momentous occasions by using Arts Unlimited grants, participating in Arts Unlimited sponsored events, and continuing to support student interests in the fine and performing arts.
ARTS UNLIMITED GRANTS
Arts Unlimited provides mini grants to D214 high schools to assist in funding workshops, presentations, events, concerts, showcases, etc. that provide students with fine and performing arts experiences. For example, grants may be used for payment of a visiting artist, author, choreographer, performances, guest speakers, or transportation to a cultural or fine art event. If you are interested in an Arts Unlimited grant, please fill out the grant application form and send the request to your building AU coordinator. Once a grant request is approved, please provide contact information and a completed W-9 for the vendor/presenter. Contact your building’s AU coordinator with any questions.
ARTS UNLIMITED DISTRICT EVENTS
Students from all D214 high schools are invited to Forest View Educational Center to participate in workshops and presentations that focus on the fine and performing arts. Instructors and presenters for these events offer students hands on experiences and career insight in each area of the arts.
ARTS UNLIMITED RECEPTION
The reception celebrates and honors not only the fine art achievements of D214 students, but also the achievements of those in the community that have made a significant impact supporting the Arts. A student performance from the District 214 schools is also highlight of this event.
D214 ANTHOLOGY
Each year Arts Unlimited selects 12 students from each school who excel in visual art and creative writing. Student artwork and student writing is published in the Arts Unlimited Anthology. The Anthology is unveiled and students featured in the magazine are honored at the reception.
